When, Where, When & How Build

when-where-and-how-to-build

So you’re finally beginning to think seriously about building a new custom home. Year after year you visit the Parade of Homes to see what’s new and trending while you ooh and aah over the style and convenience that building custom can afford. Isn’t it finally time to have a home you helped create – a home that celebrates the way you and your family want to live?
You’ve heard nothing but good things about Bob Webb, so that’s a no-brainer. Their homes are consistently voted “Consumer’s Choice” at the Parade. And you’ve always loved the high quality and innovation that make central Ohio’s #1 builder the perfect choice to help you bring your dream home to life. All you really need to do is take the first step.

Step 1: Visit Our Website, Then Visit a Model

Start by visiting our website at www.bobwebb.com and familiarize yourself with the basics of Bob Webb – our neighborhoods, our history, our process, our customer testimonials are all right there. Then click into the neighborhoods that might be of interest and schedule a trip to see our model and meet with a new home sales consultant.
Because your home will be custom, it helps to walk through one of our models to experience the quality and ‘feel’ of a Bob Webb home. The sales consultant there will work with you to assess your wants and needs and offer an overview of the building process including all the things to expect before (and after) you go to contract.

Step 2: Deciding Where, When & How to Build

Location, location, location. We’re building in some of the most desirable communities in the city. Consider what’s important to you: think about schools, amenities, proximity to work, play and worship. Or build your dream home on your on your own parcel of land. We’ll work with you to find the ideal spot to make your dream home happen.

Step 3: Looking at Financing Options

You may be surprised at the many options available to you when you’re building a custom home. Builder loans, conventional financing … ask your sales consultant about the many ways you can finance your new Bob Webb home. (62 or older? Ask about HECM program.)

Step 4: Drawing Up the Home You Envision

You know what you want. And you know what you don’t want. The home you envision will come to life with the help of your Bob Webb dream team of architects and design specialists. There’s never a charge for this service at Bob Webb … even if you decide to cancel the project.

Step 5: Contract Signed – It’s Official

You’ve decided on your location. You’ve lined up your financing. You’ve created a floorplan and design that is perfect for the life you lead. It’s time to put pen to paper and go to contract – the formal commitment to building the home of your dreams. Once the contract is signed there’s no turning back – you’re literally off and running!

Step 6: Permits, Utilities and Initial Start-up

Before your home actually breaks ground, there are some initial steps that need to take place. Permits need to be approved, and things like electrical/water/sewer/streets need to be put in. It can sometimes be a waiting game due to approvals, committees and inclement weather. Each task has its own set of timing/action and must follow in sequence – it’s just a fact of life when you’re building a new home.

Step 7: Becoming a Part of the Process

You can be involved as much (or as little) as you like. We love it when our buyers put on their hard hats and show up on site. We welcome your questions and input and look forward to meeting with you throughout the various stages of the process.
As a valued customer you’ll have access to our Advantage System program which lets you check progress, see photos and communicate with your Bob Webb building team 24/7 by computer, tablet or smartphone. (Your sales consultant can offer more information and show you how it works.)

Step 8: The Fun Stuff – Making Selections

Flooring, appliances, countertops, light fixtures …our new one-stop Design Center makes selection easy. You’ll see vignettes of kitchens and showers and storage options. You’ll be able to compare cabinet doors and flooring samples and paint colors, right there on the spot, and get a good idea of how they’ll actually look once your room is finished. Your own personal Bob Webb ASID-certified design specialist will be with you every step of the way to help you identify all the niceties and necessities to bring your dream home to vibrant life!

Step 9: Quality Assurance – Final Walk-through

Once everything is complete, certified inspectors will walk through your home to make sure everything measures up to Bob Webb’s tough standards. No issue is too small. No detail is overlooked. After that inspection comes the ultimate inspection … the one done by you. You will walk room by room with your project manager to make sure that every square inch of your new home is just as you expected it to be.

Step 10: Closing & Keys – Welcome Home!

The day is finally here. Your new home is ready for you to take ownership. All that’s left to do is sign the paperwork and close on your beautiful new Bob Webb custom home. And we can’t wait to be the first to hand you your keys!
After the Sale – the First Year
After you’ve moved in, the personalized customer care continues. That’s why we schedule walk-throughs with you and Bob Webb service specialists to be sure everything works well and that your expectations are being met.
The 90-day walk-through is the perfect time to bring attention to problems that may still need fixing. The 1-year walk-through covers anything under warranty (not due to misuse) to make sure everything is working as it should and that you’re completely satisfied with your new Bob Webb home. At Bob Webb, service after the sale is always a top priority, and our service department consistently receives excellent reviews from satisfied homeowners.
